HOMOSEXUAL – SODOMY

Genesis 19:1-29 (specific to verse 5):

It’s attributable to the rape myth of Medusa

The evil of Sodom:

With Lot’s wife being turned into a pillar of salt for looking back at Sodom (Gen. 19:26), sounds to me like an allegory referring to the mythological rape of Medusa.  Plus, when we’re dealing with “two angels” as the intended victims, that’s God letting us know we’re not dealing in reality (an actual incident).  Medusa, a beautiful young woman whose crowning glory was her beautiful hair, was raped by Poseidon in Athena’s temple.  Strangely, Athena, outraged, takes it out on Medusa by turning her beautiful hair into snakes, and a face so frightening that anyone who looked directly at her turned to stone (salt is a mineral).  The allegory would match as Lot’s wife looks at the result of the metamorphous of a town where everyone had been raped (or, where rape was standard / allowed).  Plus, rape fits more with sexual evil, as it is a forceful violation of the wishes of the non-consenting partner, producing a “victim,” as Lot’s guests (“two angels”) were apparently non-consenting.  Possibly Athena was just displaying what a victim of rape feels like: ugly and scared.  God has many times used allegoric / symbolic meaning to circumvent Bible corrupters for today’s age of ethical achievement.  You see, the Bible would have never gotten to us if it wasn’t sometimes ambiguous needing further interpretation.  Allowing evil to build more on their cop-outs against homosexuals provides me today more to prevail over.

That was simple.

(Added 12-27-10):

Verse 9 tells that the men outside threatened to treat Lot “worse” than they planned on the men (two angels) inside, thereby making a corresponding comparison that varied the level of hurt for the one specific kind of evil (“wicked”).  Therefore, if consensual gay sex is the evil, then how can the evil be “worse”?  I mean, if the essence of gay sex alone is wrong, then it doesn’t make anything “worse” on the consensual partner (to substantiate the threat to Lot by the men outside) depending how much or how involved, or how long you do the gay sex with the individual.  But, non-consensual sex (of any kind) can definitely be less or more (“worse”) the more cruel, the longer, and/or the more involved one gets.  Therefore this verse proves they can’t be talking about consensual gay sex.  Plus, the fact that Lot is protecting the men (two angels) inside indicates non-consensual (in Lot’s determination only, as verse 2 indicates the two men [angels] first denied Lot’s stay-over request by wanting to sleep in the square)And, not in consensual but in non-consensual, vaginal sex would hurt a whole lot less than anal sex; thereby the logic why Lot would offer his daughters (verse 8). – Allowing your daughter(s) to have sex was obviously more permissible in that day than today.

The entire text is here (my comments in blue):

Genesis 19:1-29 (NIV):

1 The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city. When he saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground. 2 “My lords,” he said, “please turn aside to your servant’s house. You can wash your feet and spend the night and then go on your way early in the morning.”

“No,” they answered, “we will spend the night in the square.” (Thereby acknowledging that gay sex would be permissible, as supernatural beings [angels] know everything.  And, permissible gay sex would not be rape even in Sodom.)

3 But he insisted so strongly that they did go with him and entered his house. He prepared a meal for them, baking bread without yeast, and they ate. 4 Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom—both young and old—surrounded the house. 5 They called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.”

6 Lot went outside to meet them and shut the door behind him 7 and said, “No, my friends. Don’t do this wicked thing. 8 Look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do what you like with them. But don’t do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof.” (Lot, being a mortal, would feel that non-consensual gang rape would be “wicked” [as it is today]; but, in a future open-sex society, rape would not be quite as victimizing, or maybe not at all.  It’d be like today pulling someone aside just to talk to them.  Most would hear you out, but some could be late for a meeting, etc. that would make them non-consensual for conversation at the time.)

9 “Get out of our way,” they replied. “This fellow came here as a foreigner, and now he wants to play the judge! We’ll treat you worse than them.” They kept bringing pressure on Lot and moved forward to break down the door.

10 But the men inside reached out and pulled Lot back into the house and shut the door. 11 Then they struck the men who were at the door of the house, young and old, with blindness so that they could not find the door.

12 The two men said to Lot, “Do you have anyone else here—sons-in-law, sons or daughters, or anyone else in the city who belongs to you? Get them out of here, 13 because we are going to destroy this place. The outcry to the LORD against its people is so great that he has sent us to destroy it.”  (Again, the “people” resent forced, violent, un-consensual rape.  Therefore, it’s the totally inconsiderate, selfish, violent ways of the town that makes the LORD realize the need to destroy the place.  Doubtful that consensual sex caused an “outcry” [unless you’re Westboro Baptist Church, who even today are of the very unusual [irrational and crazy] and totally disliked [cruel at funerals]; therefore it’s unlikely the good people of ancient Israel felt the same].  No one has an “outcry” if a gay couple is living next to them, unless they use today’s gay taboo lie as another cop-out to Heaven, for not being gay.  Even with that, few gay haters really feel victimized to justify an “outcry” by something that really can’t hurt them.  [Have someone slowly push a knife into you, if you want to know what an “outcry” truly is.]  Again, they only do violence against gays because they feel it’s buying them a place in Heaven; because the True instruction of the Goldenrule is difficult and sacrificing.  “Outcry”: “A sudden, sharp utterance”: Strong Hebrew # 6818: “a shriek.—cry (-ing).”  Westboro Baptist Church isn’t “crying” over the gay issue, they’re just being mean.  And, neither were the victims of Sodom over something “consensual”!  Other 6818 definitions: “a call for help, a cry of wailing and despair,” “a deep despairing cry over calamity,” “deep distress,” “crying out, especially for aid,” etc.)

14 So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry his daughters. He said, “Hurry and get out of this place, because the LORD is about to destroy the city!” But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.

15 With the coming of dawn, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Hurry! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away when the city is punished.”

16 When he hesitated, the men grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters and led them safely out of the city, for the LORD was merciful to them. 17 As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said, “Flee for your lives! Don’t look back, and don’t stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!”

18 But Lot said to them, “No, my lords,[b] please! 19 Your[c] servant has found favor in your eyes, and you[e] have shown great kindness to me in sparing my life. But I can’t flee to the mountains; this disaster will overtake me, and I’ll die. 20 Look, here is a town near enough to run to, and it is small. Let me flee to it—it is very small, isn’t it? Then my life will be spared.”

21 He said to him, “Very well, I will grant this request too; I will not overthrow the town you speak of. 22 But flee there quickly, because I cannot do anything until you reach it.” (That is why the town was called Zoar.)

23 By the time Lot reached Zoar, the sun had risen over the land. 24 Then the LORD rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the LORD out of the heavens. 25 Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, destroying all those living in the cities—and also the vegetation in the land. 26 But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

27 Early the next morning Abraham got up and returned to the place where he had stood before the LORD. 28 He looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah, toward all the land of the plain, and he saw dense smoke rising from the land, like smoke from a furnace.

29 So when God destroyed the cities of the plain, he remembered Abraham, and he brought Lot out of the catastrophe that overthrew the cities where Lot had lived.

More on “outcry” (Strong Hebrew # 6818):

Genesis 18:20-21 (NIV):

20 Then the LORD said, “The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous 21 that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know.”

“Grievous”: “Causing grief, pain, or anguish.”  I don’t see how it could be consensual sex.  No, gay people “enjoy” anal sex after the first few times.

Exodus 3:7 (NIV):

7 The LORD said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out (same word) because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering.

Need I explain what consensual means again?

Again, the wrong was not the gay sex part, but the fact that it was a forcing of non-consensual sex, or rape.  That lesson holds to a belief that pretty much everyone, or every generation, can be in agreement with.  Even in a perfect future open-sex world, most any kind of true non-consensual violence would meet with disapproval.

All in all, Jesus is the overruling authority to many and/or all Old Testament misconceptions; and, Jesus never condemned same-sex practice.  In fact, “commanding” His mostly male disciples to practice sexual love at the Last Supper, and supporting the anal sex baptizing “Bapt…” priests of the only goddess actually named for [or, dedicated to] open-sex [Cotytto], means He doesn’t only approve it, but commands it (to build a true, tangible loving society; making everyone into “a” value.  But, I write on these Old Testament subjects anyway just because everyone doesn’t consider Jesus (alone) as the last, final and overriding authority.

Inclusively, there is definitely no stable evidence justifying the condemning of the same-sex lifestyle.
