Regarding your song Politically Uncorrect:
This is exactly how the rich man wants you to think. The rich man wants you, not him, to help the needy. The rich man wants you to go to (today’s) church, because they preach exactly what the rich man wants to hear (“faith alone”). And, the rich man wants you to die in the battlefield for “his” freedom and/or pride, not yours: A hard working man, the “low man on the totem pole” is not going to see any difference if (hypothetically) another ruler took over the US government, simply because any other ruler would also need someone to do the lousy jobs, duh! If anything, the low man “might” see an improvement.
I’m not trying to put them down, but country people / laborers tend to have lower IQs, and are therefore more susceptible to mainstream brainwash.
Now, the Golden Rule is also for everything in the song, except the war based comments. A flag is a kind of idolatry. “Patriotic” means a blind and/or bias trust to fight for your country right or wrong. Let me know how I’m wrong. When you fight for God, you cannot fight against an entire country, because all are God’s children. And it is the farthest thing from “honorable” to kill any innocent civilian even when it’s necessary for one’s gain or entire life. I don’t see how Montgomery Gentry can say that dropping bombs on innocent civilians is “something to be proud of.” The thought sickens me. There’s absolutely no ethical difference between Saddam Hussein and George W. Bush: both kill civilians to better their goals. The only difference is, Saddam Hussein is on trial for it and George W. Bush isn’t. That’s just because one is the winner and one is the loser of the game.
Now, write a song about that. And if you really care about the Bible, and maybe one particular character named Jesus Christ, then it would be great if you wrote a song about how He “explained” that the Golden Rule is the only way for salvation, and He explained how anything else is a cop-out (Matthew 25:34-46).
I enjoyed seeing you a few years ago.

When I see evidence that our courageous service men are workin’ hard to make this world safer for my extraordinarily non-selfish soul, I just sleep a whole lot better at night knowing my freedom is in less jeopardy. Me, me, me, MY FREEDOM – it’s worth the price, and I’m PROUD of our fighting men. That’s right, I’ve never felt so good about payin’ my income tax, which makes certain I’m a part of it. Yeah! I’m PROUD! I feel like buyin’ a guitar and singin’ a song about it. Other people die and are maimed so I can live – yes, that’s the side I choose: that’s the kind of decision that “makes me better than other people.” It didn’t take long for me to decide that. And I’m proud to give my Aaron Tippin smirk to anyone who disagrees.
Thank you so much you BRAVE, INTELLIGENT and GODLY fighting men. I owe you so much. You’ve got my support. All of you deserve to go straight to Heaven.
By the way, if anyone knows where I can get a dead Iraqi civilian child photo with a doll still in her arms, please let me know! I want it! I definitely can make use of something like that!
